We’ve had inquiries regarding HB 1013, and the language in it that allows a “mobile crisis team” to take a person to a physician for emergency evaluation. The concern is whether such an action could be tantamount to a red flag law.
Under federal law, an emergency mental health admission for observation does not count as being “committed to a mental institution” and does not result in loss of firearms rights.
