Mr. Billy Watts of Junction City, GA passed away at his residence on the morning of Saturday, April 17, 2021.
Mr. Watts was affectionally know as Mr. Billy or “Pops”. He was preceded in death by his father, Mr. Billie L.V. Watts of Hattiesburg, MS and his wife, Susie C. Watts of Newnan, GA.
Mr. Watts is survived by his daughters, Angie Schmeck of Newnan, Millie and Punkin Watts of Junction City and “adopted sons and their spouses”, Wallace and Kay Carpenter and Jeff and Mindy Watson.
Mr. Watts was a veteran of the National Guard. He was born in Natchez, MS and spent most of his youth in Hattiesburg, MS. Mr. Watts was a bull rider and horse trainer. Part of his accomplishments were training horses for the Futurity competitions. He was a corporate pilot as well as in the private sector for the late Mr. Scott Hudgens of Atlanta, GA. He was an avid outdoorsman with many travels, hunts and harvests throughout the years. He was a participant in the GON’s truck buck shootout, qualifying several years. He was most proud of his many harvests that he made while on trips with friends across the U.S. Mr. Watts was a proud lifetime member of the NRA, NWTF, and donated anonymously to underprivileged children and to the Georgia Sheriffs Youth Home.
Mr. Watts was a pilot for the Taylor County Sheriffs Office where he bonded with his adopted sons, Wally and Jeff. As well as being his friends, they later became his caregivers for the remainder of his life.
Mr. Watts will be greatly missed by those that knew and loved him.

Pallbearers will be Taylor County Sheriff’s Office deputies. Honorary pallbearers will be the many friends in law enforcement he has made along the way.
