Don Towers was born and raised in Texas and moved to Georgia with his family in 1968. He grew up and went to school in Smyrna and Marietta. Don has been a lifelong gun owner from a young age, and participated in competitive rifle in high school and competitive pistol in college. Don served as a U.S. Army infantry officer from 1980 to 2000, serving in various assignments in the United States and overseas, and then retired from the Army in 2000.
In 2012, Don joined GeorgiaCarry.org and has been a Life Member since 2015. Don is a strong supporter of the 2nd Amendment and has been involved at the state and local level in supporting gun rights. Don was previously elected to the GeorgiaCarry.org Board of Directors in the fall of 2018 for a two year term.
Don now lives in Marietta and is currently working in gun sales and firearms instruction at Adventure Outdoors in Smyrna.
