GCO Appeals Fulton County Case

GCO has filed a notice of appeal of its case against various Fulton County cities for their ordinances banning carrying firearms in parks. While GCO largely won the case (see article below regarding the City of Atlanta), for each defendant against whom the case is appealed, the court denied GCO relief to which it was entitled. In the case of Roswell and Sandy Springs, the court allowed those two cities to continue to regulate firearms by banning their carry at public gatherings. In all three instances, the court denied GCO the opportunity to prove that GCO members’ civil rights had been violated by the defendant cities, and denied GCO the opportunity to recover the costs of litigation against the cities.
