GA2A Applauds Georgia Supreme Court’s Decision on Campus Carry

Today, Georgia 2nd Amendment, formerly GeorgiaCarry.org, celebrated the Georgia Supreme Court’s decision to dismiss a lawsuit from five professors that challenged a state law that allows firearms to be carried on public college campuses.

Passed in 2017, HB 280, better known as Campus Carry, was championed by GA2A. The organization also filed an amicus brief in the Court of Appeals explaining proper procedures for challenging government action.

“We led the fight to allow law-abiding Georgians to carry on campus because gun free zones are magnets for dangerous criminals,” said Jerry Henry, Executive Director of GA2A. “It’s sad that a handful of radical college professors care more about their political ideologies than the safety of their colleagues, students, and guests on campus. Our institutions of higher learning should be ripe for education – not violence.

“GA2A applauds the Georgia Supreme Court for their wisdom in this matter. By protecting our Second Amendment Rights, we will ensure a safe and prosperous future for our fellow Georgians.”
